REVIEW: Where’s Peter Rabbit? at Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness

by Usha Mistry, Lakes Culture

This high-quality show, with actors and puppeteers re-enacting some of Potter’s famous tales, is a real treat for young children and any adult Beatrix Potter fans.

A cast of talented puppeteers bring the likes of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Mr Todd and Jeremy Fisher to life – I went with my children aged 6 and 9 and we all thought Jeremy Fisher was the best!

The production stays true to Beatrix Potter’s stories and includes many references to the Lake District landscape that inspired her to create these world-famous characters and tales. This is great for families, but watch out for Mr McGregor as the show maintains the darker side of Beatrix Potter’s stories with a super singalong song about dead rabbits and pies!
