Calling all funksters, soulsters & lovers of a good-time vibe

AKA Kevin Sharkey! Kevin’s honed sense of rhythm and musicality is palpable in his superb and seamless vinyl mixes – classic tracks and sounds from more unexpected left of field artists meld for an exciting, ambient DJ set.

We’re delighted to invite Ambleside based Olivia Fern to The Brewery. Olivia’s thoughtful, ethereal performances are striking even haunting. She is quickly becoming a favourite on the Northern folk circuit.

// THE FELLSIDE SINGERS, Sunday 31 July 1pm – 4pm

A 30-strong group that perform a powerful repertoire of folk, world, traditional & contemporary music. Expect a big sound and a moving performance from an outfit that has shared the stage with The Henry Girls, A Fistfull of Spookies and made a number of recent radio appearances.

// THE SHAPES, Sunday 7 August 1pm – 4pm

Groove based heavy blues from this young South Cumbrian four piece band. Taking their inspiration from BB King, Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters and other greats of the blue’s scene, The Shapes have created an inspiring and original set of their own material.

// THE CHADELICS, Sunday 14 August 1pm – 4pm

Ulverston based four piece, Indie punk-popsters The Chadelics are making waves on the northern music circuit. Belting out high energy three minute rock gems they’re reminiscent of Derry’s finest, The Undertones.

// SHALLAMARA, Sunday 21 August 1pm – 4pm

With s sound firmly rooted in the folk rock traditions of the likes of  Fairport Convention & Steeleye Span, Shallmarra have given the genre a thoroughly modern dust down with a exciting dancable set.


The Vats Bar & Grainstore are both open on Sunday afternoons. Weather permitting Brewery Arts Centre will also have an outdoor bar and take orders for food from the bar in the garden – with a street food style menu including The Brewery Lakeland Lamb & Mint burger in a brioche bun or Brewery Beer Batter fish finger sandwich. Food will be served in the garden but will be prepared in the kitchen.

New for 2016 is a funky new outdoor, portable, bar made for Brewery Arts Centre by Stan from ‘The Woodshed’ out of reclaimed, locally found wood.
